Last day of March already?

Boy, does time ever fly with a little guy.  Get up, eat, play, eat, nap, eat, play, eat, play, nap, eat, play, eat, sleep.  Doesn't leave much time for clock watching, that's for sure!

Yesterday, Chase spent most of the day with Nate while I was at work/dentist.  Nate got a few pics of him playing with his golf clubs:

Today, the two of us hung around home for the majority of the day, doing our usual eat, play, nap schedule.  He started dropping his food (in this case, a banana cookie) off the side of his high chair to see where it went/watch me pick it up, I guess.
He's also started grinding his teeth constantly.  I asked a few people, and also googled it.  Most things I read were that it's probably nothing more than him getting used to his teeth and what they can do, or it might be teething pain.  Either way, most seem to think he'll stop soon.  Others suggest consulting a ped dentist, which we don't actually have one yet.  I guess we'll see how he's doing next week and go from there.
Lastly, he's figured out how to manipulate me into doing things :P  Not that I'm particularly hard to convince, when it comes to his cute little face, but he's got me now!  He uses his hand to pull my hand to objects (like his farm animal See 'n Say) so that I'll turn them on, so that he doesn't have to.  He was also eating a Apple Juice popcicle earlier (I was holding it to his face), and he would push my hand (and popcicle) to my face to make me pretend to take a bite, and then he would pull it back to him to take a bite, then back to me, and so on.  So cute!  He's never tried sharing anything before, so I thought that was pretty sweet :)
Anyway, enough babbling - on with today's pictures.  These are just before we left to take Nate lunch at work:

Walking

Chase pretended to play an air guitar today while dada played the guitar for him.  I tried to get a video, but (of course!) he stopped everytime I started filming.  Anyway, take my word for it -- it was super cute!!  He and dada practiced walking this morning, and he was getting pretty good at it.  So after Nate left for work I turned his little car into the push-along walking helper thingy (that's the technical term!), and let him practice walking with it.  He walked all the way across the room once, and then a little here and there after that.  He's pretty good!  Now we just need to work on getting him to let go :)

Smart boy

It's so amazing watching Chase learn how to do things day by day.  The last few days he's figured out how to close his pop up toys, he's starting to attempt to let go of one thing and walk to something just out of reach (hasn't quite managed that one yet, though), and he's learning where the buttons on his toys are that make them sing, or light up, or whatever it is that they do.  I'm so used to pushing all of the buttons for him, and helping him do everything, it's quite a change to let him do it for himself.  He's also starting to assert himself during feedings too, he is dying to get ahold of his spoon.  For now I'm pacifying him with a 2nd spoon to play with, but I have a feeling that won't hold him for long!

Here are a few photos from today:

Post-battle injuries:

Playing guitar with daddy:

3/26

Saturday Daddy played golf, so Chase and I hung around and got some laundry and dishes done.  When Daddy got home, he and Granddad moved the dresser out of Chase's room (couldn't get the drawers open, so pointless to have it!) to make room for Chase's new shelves.  Then we did some spring cleaning (windows and such), and got his fishtank all set up in his room.  Now he can crawl up to it and pull up on the table and be right at eye level with his fishies!  Afterward, we went to visit Aunt Connie and Uncle Bryan.  Chase got to play with Bailey (who he can now chase around), and got his first true battle wound on his forehead, falling and whacking his face on the tv table.  Ouch!  (pictures in next post)

3/25

3 days.  I'm hanging my head in shame as I type.  I will, however, attempt to butter the audience up with some videos :)  It's been a busy few days!

Friday, 3/25

I babysat Sophie on Friday.  I forgot to pack the real camera, so I only have phone photos (that seriously suck - all blurry!), but I did get a couple of videos that were pretty cute.  He got his first kiss, and I got it on video - woohoo!

Balloon boy

After a month+, Chase has finally found my valentines day balloon.  He had a grand old time batting it around and watching it float.  He loves the crinkly noises it makes.  The only thing more exciting than the balloon is my phone - it is a miracle "toy" when you want to distract him from anything.

Busy, busy.

Another double post; bad habits are forming!

Yesterday we attempted coloring.  I know it's way early, but he was fussy, and it distracted him for a little while.  He mostly just wanted to eat the crayons, but we did manage a few scribbles :)

Corny (yes, it is)

Chase got his spoon and empty jar of corn (which he loved, yay! A veggie he likes!) after lunch yesterday.  He thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I also moved his baby gate a little further down the hallway, so that it only blocked off the bathroom.  I shut the bedroom door and let him explore down that hallway.  He would crawl all the way to the baby gate as fast as he could, pull himself up and scream like an excited little monkey, then plop back on his butt, crawl back down the hallway, turn around, and do it all over again for about 45 minutes.  Too funny!
